NEWS RELEASE - SEPTEMBER 19, 2009 MILWAUKEE, WI - MEC, a Milwaukee Electronics Company, today announced that it had hired Kurt Rich as a business development manager. He is responsible for sales for all three of MEC's business units. His responsibilities include teaming with MEC’s national network of manufacturer’s representatives. “Kurt brings more than two decades of EMS sales expertise to his new position. His background selling both U.S. and Mexico-based contract manufacturing services and his background in selling mid-tier vertically integrated EMS services align well with MEC’s combination of capabilities in those areas,” said Hani Malek, MEC Midwest general manager and national sales and marketing manager. Kurt was previously director of sales for Catalyst Manufacturing. He was earlier associated with EPIC Technologies, QMF Metal & Electronics Systems, Inc., Elamex S.A. de C.V., IEC Electronics Corporation and ETL Testing Laboratories in a variety of sales management positions. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Thiel College and has pursued studies toward an Executive MBA at the University of Buffalo. MEC designs and manufactures custom circuit board assemblies for the medical, transportation, military, HVAC and a variety of other industries. MEC operates over 135,000 square feet of manufacturing in Canby, Oregon; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Tecate, Mexico. In addition to EMS services it offers product development services through its MEC Innovation business unit and quickturn prototyping through its Screaming Circuits Business unit.
