Hand-Held Label Printer PCB Design, PCB Assembly Case Studies

Hand-Held Label Printer Designed for Fast Changes and PC Interface

Situation: Developing a new hand-held industrial thermal transfer printer gave our customer a number of design challenges. The printer needed to support a wide variety of endHardware and Software Design Printer user updates for new custom label stock.

Solution: Working with the customer's development team, MEC designed all hardware, firmware and support software for the new printer. The result is high-end WYSIWYG driven-unit with a graphics LCD display. The unit supports multiple label design storage and retrieval, barcode and custom image printing, and PC-based backups and updates.

Results: Printer is in full production and the customer is embarking on an international rollout.
