Making a Hospital Alarm System Audible Situation: A hospital built a new wing with sound proofed walls and long corridors. The problem: audible alarms in the rooms could not be heard in adjacent rooms or in the corridor. Solution: MEC designed an interface between existing ventilators and a remote enunciator. We wrote and tested interface control software on-site. Results: Hospital administration was very happy with the quick and reliable solution. More important, the safety and well-being of patients has been improved. |
