Challenge: A manufacturer of surgical fluid management systems faced end of life situation due to key components that were no longer supported by the manufacturers. The product had strong market acceptance and the customer needed to sustain the product platform.
Solution: MEC’s component engineering team evaluated the product and provides ongoing sustainability engineering support.
Results: As component availability issues have arisen, the team has made substitution suggestions. If substitution isn’t an option, lifetime buys have been made to support the product lifecycle. The lifecycle of the product has been increased by years allowing the customer time to develop the next generation platform without losing market penetration.
