High Mix, Variable Demand Support
Challenge: A military customer needed both engineering and production support for a line of security sensors. The high mix product family had variable demand based on government ordering patterns.
Solution: MEC teamed with the customer to implement Lean manufacturing principles and a build-to-order strategy that met their requirements. MEC’s sourcing team reached agreement with suppliers to hold 3-9 months of inventory of both electronic and custom components.
