Microcontroller-Based Air Pressure Sensor System Levels Heavy Loads, Wins Patent for Customer Situation: Our customer wanted the ability to display air pressure from any type of pressure sensor on a tractor trailer or full-size recreational vehicle. In tractor trailers, this capability would allow proper load leveling adjustment of product during shipments. For recreational vehicle owners, it would allow easy leveling of the parked vehicle by a single person. Solution: MEC's microcontroller-based design permits sensor parameter programming of the air bladder pressure sensors. The operator can manually add air to the bladder mounted between the trailer frame and axle to level the load. Results: The customer was awarded a patent for the controller design, which was integrated into a product sold to the trucking and recreational vehicle industries.
