Octane Monitor Triples Test Speed

Situation: A customer needed to update octane monitoring equipment used in gasoline production. Test time is critical since the volume of fuel is limited.

Solution: We designed an x486-based system with a custom DSP data acquisition system.

Results: The new octane monitor reduced test time from 30 minutes to approximately 10 minutes, speeding this critical test for refineries that run flat-out to keep up with gasoline demand.
