For years the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry has been touted as an extension of their customers'  manufacturing operations. We applied Lean principles to this idea in order enhance responsiveness to customer order variation while minimizing the level of purchasing transactions. MEC's application of Lean Principles and Teaming for Optimized Supply Chain Efficiency was recently featured by Circuits Assembly (the Journal for Surface Mount and Electronics Assembly in their article "Eliminating Muda: One Company's Journey".
We implemented Lean principles and developed Lean tools within the supply chain for cost and productivity advantages as well as enhancing flexibility and teamwork. We believe that teaming with the supply chain through Lean practices strengths relationships.
